China Guide : Fu Jian (V.1) - 11 Days 10 Nights

Guide to Fu Jian (福建), China (中国)

(Dong Shan).

We had our transit from Guang Zhou to Fu Zhou during our trip. The province and sub provinces that we have visited during our 11 days and 10 nights were 广州 (Guang Zhou) and 福建 (Fu Jian).

In this entry, it is all about the summary on Fu Jian Province, the sub provinces that we have visited are 武夷山 (WuYi Mountain), 福州 (Fu Zhou), 厦门 (Xia Men), 永定 (Yong Ding) and 东山 (Dong Shan).

(WuYi Mountain)

The experience at Mt. WuYi was one of the remarkable one, I love the scenery and the cold breezy air there. We went to watch Producer, Zhang Yi Mou's work of art for Mt. Wu Yi - 大红袍 Da Hong Pao, it was amazing with 365 degree surrounding musical drama!

  * Sightseeing at night - Lifestyle
Yeo Hwa Resort
The Cloud's Lair, Heavenly Tour and Peach Blossom Paradise Scenic Area

Stage Performance of DaHongPao
Tea Garden, Tread of Sky, Wind Cave and Tiger Roar Cliff

2. 福州 (Fu Zhou)

If we have the chance to visit Fu Jian, it is a must to visit the capital and largest city of FuJian - Fu Zhou!

The Garden of Min River and Yong Quan Temple

Lin ZeXu and Cultural Street ShanFangQiXiang

(Xia Men)

XiaMen is a city where it is located at the border to Taiwan. The lifestyle and culture of Xia Men is similar to Taiwan, I even thought I was visiting Taiwan when I visited their Pedestrian Street!

Bullet Train and ZhongShan Pedestrian Street

Pedestrian area of GuLangYu

4. 永定 (Yong Ding)

Yongding is a district under the jurisdiction of Longyan prefecture-level city in the southwest of Fujian Province. It is the home of many Hakka-speaking families.

Because of its location and not many tourists will choose Yong Ding as their visiting preference. The dinner we had surprised us as in a no no way and the weather was cold and we even can feel the temperature drop when we were in the hotel, I covered myself with layers!

Tu Lou/ House of Clay

5. 东山 (Dong Shan)

Dongshan District was a former district in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China located to the west of Tianhe District and the east of Yuexiu District. It was the political and cultural centre of Guangdong Province and noted for its high quality education.

Fun In Dong Shan, China : Been Blessed here! :)

China Part 8 - Dong Shan (东山), FuJian (福建)
寡妇村 (Village of Widows), 马銮湾 (MaLuanWan), 风动石风景区 (Feng Dong Shi Scenic Area) and 关帝庙 (Guan Di Temple)

It was evening when we arrived at Dong Shan after a long trip from Yong Ding (永定).

- Sunset of Dong Shan -

Gorgeous sunset. :) Caught my eye with the details of fisheries home.

- Village of the Widows

It was a very short evening with historical stories for us to understand bits of Dong Shan.

- Village of the Widows

Sad story I could say, imagine the women waited for her husband to come back to China for her whole life since the day the man left for war. And in the end, bringing a new wife aside. :(

And we proceed to the beautiful beach of "Ma Luan Wan"

- "Ma Luan Wan"

A short walk along the beach! Well, I still our perfect view of Tanjung Aru Beach! Horray!

- Dong Shan Map -

- "Ma Luan Wan"

- Happy Birthday to me! -

It was my first time celebrate away from Malaysia. :) Our kind tour leader from China arranged a surprise cake for us!

After our dinner and its time to rest and another day to go in Dong Shan!

(Feng Dong Shi Scenic Area) -

Had a simple breakfast before we start our day. :)

A short walk and we could see a perfect calm view along the coastal area of Dong Shan. It was really amazing how China have uplifted so much to suits the world and yet still keeping the authentic ones.

Open wide with the sea, breezy morning we had!

(Feng Dong Shi Scenic Area) -

Brief introduction about the surrounding of that fishery village. Bricks houses along the coastal.

(Feng Dong Shi) -

The huge stone which magically won't fall down. I wonder.

You know what? There's a phrase that China always say,

"the more you imagine an object (stone), the more it sees like what you imagine."

Plenty of stones for us to imagine and with tales.

(Feng Dong Shi) -

(Feng Dong Shi Scenic Area) -

Ain't they gorgeous?

(Guan Di Temple) -

The temple was closed for renovation that time and we have been directed to another temporary building for prayers and fortune teller.

The temple was one of the oldest temple in China and of course, the temple also well known for its prayers to be granted. Well, I do believe in heaven of Gods. I did ask about my future and it seems pretty correct when i think back.

It just a wise things to do. :) We can't run away from the question of career and relationship.

(Guan Di Temple) -

The sculptures on top of the temple roof. The heaven of gods. :)

And we were heading to Guang Zhou! Finally Guang Zhou! Lots to see and lots to love!

Happy weekend to you!

Fun in Yong Ding, China : Experiencing House of Clay

China Part 7  - Tu Lou (土楼), Yong Ding (永定), Northern FuJian (福建)

It was one of our effort to visit the local village during our China trip. And after a long journey from XiaMen to Yong Ding, we stay at the best hotel in that village, we could feel the cold air inside our room as well, covered myself layers and we could still felt the cold air. In fact, we do have heater. Oh Gosh.

We began our second day with an early visit to the clay house! (Tu Lou) at their Scenery Area.

 - Cigarettes -

The local made cigarette, anyone? Spotted this during our nature call (WC visit).

- The Ticket -

I still keep them and nicely left inside my diary. :)

And let us took a long walk to the clay house!

- The Clay House behind -

- The Jump Shot -

- One of the old Clay House -

A short story of Tu Lou, each Tu Lou (either it is round or in block), it represent a family under one roof, with relatives etc. The more people stay in the Tu Lou. the more solid it will be. It means that with the human "energy" in side, the building will last longer!

The funniest story I heard during my trip was, the English back then thought that China has been building tombs to prepare to have war! From the satellite signal, it does look round and huge!

- Souvenirs -

China has been categorising Tu Lou as the World Heritage. It was really good to know more about China lifestyle for Chinese from other countries.

- Tu Lou in block -

This building is an old building, we were directed to the new one which is in rounded building.

You will be surprise when you saw chickens walking around. They raise chickens inside the building. OMG!

- Sweets -

- The beautiful sight -

- Tu Lou -

Here we are!

We went to visit one of the Tu Lou, we were lucky to see the nicely decorated building which they were going to held a wedding ceremony! :)

In there, we won't be surprise that people are selling souvenirs as well. Reasonable priced and try to bargain with them!

- Inside -

The hall and rooms surrounded.

 - The Hall -

- Families -

- Random Shot -

- The second Tu Lou in block -

It was very far difference with the round one we compared earlier. We were surprised with the lifestyle here.

Yes, they still live in there.

- Last shot -

I love the handbag I bought!

That's all!

(Xia Men) -

I love this sweet and cozy place, no motor vehicles except buggy on the island. Beautiful architecture and similar to Taiwan and Macau. :)

(Fu Jian) -

Magnificent scenery and friendly people that we met during our days at Wu Yi Mountain. :)

(Guang Zhou) -

Just to play safe, I brought my parents to Mc Donald/ Mc Cafe for coffee and snacks while seeing all the crowds from up there!

(Guang Zhou) -

The best porridge (Prawn Porridge) and Noodles we had for supper on the first night in Guang Zhou! Located at a stall opposite our hotel that we were went for overnight and flying off to Fu Zhou on the next morning.

(Fu Jian) -

Inspiring and impressed all of us from the outdoor theater show we have watched, freezing with temperature of 2C during the show, imagine the temperature getting low when the night getting darker.

- Bullet Train -

First class seat from Fu Zhou to Xia Men, 3 hours!

(Xia Men)  -

Finally the first cup of coffee I bought from a random cafe we walked in, while others doing their shopping.

(Dong Shan) 07.12.2013 -

And I got a surprise birthday cake from the tour company we signed with! Very simple yet noted one sweet memory, it was my first celebrating outside Malaysia.

-Gift from #Saturdate! -

Beverly from Take Another Step gave me a birthday gift before I left!

- Selfie -

We could only dress up in such a way that we can't in tropical weather like Malaysia. I always love my boots!

That's my updates for the day. Till then!
