Night Life in Hong Kong Island - Not Only "Lan Kwai Fong" 兰桂坊!

Hong Kong Island

After we had our dinner near Central, it's time to go back to our hotel. But, wait a minute!

In fact, it's time to stroll around Hong Kong Island with Charmaine who willing to bring me for an insight.

We always heard about Lan Kwai Fong of Hong Kong where night life is the best place to be.

Finally I have the opportunity to experience LKF personally. Tourists like me were walking and drinking at bars and dining nearby.

Emack & Bolio's

One of the recommended Ice Cream here!

The longest escalator in Hong Kong Island.

Hollywood Road GOD Store

" ... Local artist Alex Croft’s colourful mural of old townhouses seems to continuously have tourists and local Instagrammers alike hanging around seeking a snapshot. Originally a commissioned piece for lifestyle brand GOD’s store around the corner, the art is now an attraction itself. Opposite The Globe, 45-53 Graham St, Central. " - Time Out

One of the favourite spot for photography.

It's a candy shop that we have walked by.

Night scene.

And we waited for the tram to go to our hotel located at Wanchai. The tram only available at Hong Kong Island.

In fact, it could be a romantic date too. :)

That's Charmaine. :) Always a good opportunity to know more of the insight of a country when we have relatives!

View from the tram.

I love to stand at the bridge while looking at the buildings and the busy streets. Same goes to Thailand and Vietnam. If you have the chance to stand at the bridge of a busy street, you will enjoy it as well!

Lamma Island 南丫岛 : The Cruise to the Home of Chow Yun-Fat 周润发

Lamma Island 南丫岛

It was really nice to be back in Hong Kong for the second time.

Along with my parents to enjoy the authentic insider Hongkongers with our relatives, we had quite a special one, especially with the cruise trip to Lamma Island. We also tasted the well known restaurant with delicious roasted piglets and goose as well.

Oh ya, before I forgot to share you about the good deal I have found with Traveloka for cheap airline tickets. It is always a temptation to check on routes from Kuala Lumpur to other countries, this round with great deal on Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta flights as low as RM125.00 one way. How I wish to visit Jakarta again! Let's Go!

Back to my Lamma Island trip on the same day we arrived Hong Kong!

Before our cruise ride to Lamma Island, we had a delicious Dim Sum Buffet and ended with a bowl of bird's nest as dessert.

Eye of Hong Kong?

A short ride from our restaurant, we reached the harbour nearest to Hong Kong Observation Wheel 香港摩天輪. It is a 60-metre tall Ferris wheel located at the Central Harbour front, Central. It has 42 gondolas including one VIP Gondola with leather seats and a clear glass bottom floor. All gondolas are equipped with air conditioners and communication systems.

I always love the see Ferris wheel at any parts of the world.

And that's our cruise on the left! Thanks to Charmaine who took us for the ride! I believe that it is a luck to be able to see Lamma Island personally. Frankly speaking, we always see and heard "Lamma Island" through Cantonese HK television.

The Junk.

Charmaine told us that the junk has not been operating for many years and with recent repair, it's working again. My mom does kept one model figure at home, that's why it does look familiar to me and the junk represent Hong Kong as well.

Breezy air while amused with Hong Kong harbour view behind.

I always appreciate the world and the time I had especially during a short visit to other countries. We see lives differently when we start travelling and experience another culture.

Getting nearer to Lamma Island!

When we saw the three "joss stick", it means that we are getting nearer to the island.

The harbour port of Lamma Island for public usage.

Lamma Island indeed still keeping the tradition and custom of old fishery ancestry. It was nice to get know more about Hong Kong with old scene at Lamma Island. Everything are just calm with slower pace.

Alongside, Lamma Island has a free-spirited, multicultural vibe and is home to hipsters and creative types. Indie boutiques, craft stores and mellow cafes line Yung Shue Wan Main Street. The island’s hiking trails take in the WWII-era Kamikaze Caves and have sweeping coastal views. Locals and day-trippers unwind on Hung Shing Yeh Beach, or head to Sok Kwu Wan fishing village and its casual seafood eateries.

We were surprised with the bicycle view here!

The Hongkongers came here for cheaper seafood and tourists came here for stay. We do see quite a number of American here for holiday.

Booking for a stay at Lamma Island is easy and many to choose!

Unlike Hong Kong, it is really a small town with home and business side by side.

We met retired European stay and running their small business at Lamma Island.

And I bought some souvenirs from there too! Crafted wood as table decoration.

The famous eggies found at Lamma Island! And it's recommended!

Smell good and delicious to eat.

Wang Long Village

Where Chow Yun-Fat was born here. Well, I do not have the guts to run to his house!

We did not explore Lamma Island with vehicles, it's just by foot. Greetings from the beers seller  while walking by the small path is just random. Mom did a good shopping on teapots and souvenirs. While I look at the architecture of Lamma Island.

Well, it was nice to visit Lamma Island for a day, it's almost evening and we cruised back to the Hong Kong harbour for a nice dinner with our family.

True that I am looking forward to enjoy my trip to Taiwan this weekend while become the buyers for my customers! My little Daigou business would be much fun when we have considered customers!

Hong Kong & Macau : Tsim Tsa Tsui & The Venetian【香港澳门游】尖沙咀与澳门威尼斯人

Hong Kong Part 13 -  尖沙咀 (Tsim Tsa Tsui), 九龙 (Kowloon)
Macau Part 1 - 澳门威尼斯人 (The Venetian)

Prepared ourselves and waited for our HK relative to arrive at Tsim Tsa Tsui MRT station on that morning!

- At Nathan Road -

Definitely looking forward on our day trip to Macau. :)

But FIRST! We gonna have our breakfast before going to the port!

- Breakfast at 澳门茶餐厅 (Macau Restaurant) -

Typical HK Char Chan Teng meal!

- Cold Butter Bread and Milky Tea -

Polo Bun was huge and it was a simple breakfast that I love and normally have.

And what I realised during HK trip was, Hong Kee normally have quite a special breakfast which combine pasta with soup as breakfast!

- Ticket from HK to Macau -

HK$151 ride for our ferry at 9.30am. And unfortunately, we didn't realised that the tickets the seller gave to us was return tickets on 15th March, 2012, luckily the custom let us back to HK on the 14th, although our tickets were wrong.

One hour ferry ride was on schedule and I met uncivilized China men again!! Pushing from behind and just "shoot" them loudly in the end. Don't play play with outsider. (^_^)

- Macau -

Tina (Our HK relative) brought us to ride the bus provided by The Venetian and we arrived at The Venetian for a short shopping spree and photography as well!

Dad very happy with the Macau trip, definitely loving Macau, a place inspired by Portuguese culture.

Macau, such a developed place with buildings and casinos. In fact, people normally come here for their casinos!

- Inside The Venetian -

Here are some of The Venetian pictures that I took! Do enjoy them! :)

- 澳门威尼斯人 (The Venetian) -

- 澳门威尼斯人 (The Venetian) -

- 澳门威尼斯人 (The Venetian) -

Inspired by Venice, Italy. I bought quite a number of items from the outlets at The Venetian. One of my good buy was Swarovski pen and I still using it!

Without further delay, off we go to the main area of Macau for local delicacies and shopping!

- Tina and Mom -

Tina brought us to have Portuguese meal!
