KK : That Tuaran Mee just opposite S.M.

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Raise your hand if you are Ex- All Saints!

Da Fatt Xing 大发兴 is the coffee shop in Likas which may of us, the school leavers familiar with.

It was located just opposite the main entrance of All Saints School. All Saints school reminds me quite a lot of memories and perhaps many of us, the school leavers will flash back a bit of how naughty were us. Those days.

- Tuaran Mee

Some of them said it has one of the best Tuaran Mee in town. As for me, the taste was a bit flat when we were there for breakfast after so many years. And YES, they were once claimed having the best Tuaran Mee.

Tuaran Mee was originated from Tuaran. And the owner of Da Fatt Xing was from Tuaran and came to KK to run his coffee shop many years ago. I think the shop was there more 20 years ago.

- All Saints School

Our school that has been changed a lot since we left.

- Wa Tan Ho

- That's me and my plate -

Sometimes not because of the taste that we are seeking for, it is simply the environment and the norms of ours to be there. :)

That's all for today!

KK : Annyeong Haseyo! The Bab's Korean BBQ at Likas

Another round of delicious Korean Cuisine during one fine night.

While it was Bae birthday, we went to The Bab's for a nice Korean dinner in town, some where where not many people would go.

- The Bab's -

It was our first time there, such a pretty environment at the restaurant, painted in purple and white. :) We have option to have our dinner outdoor and indoor, I'm a bit reluctant to sit out. Way to hot to dine in at Korean restaurant while we stayed in a humid environment 24/7 here.

- Appetizer/ Starter -

So many to eat while waiting for the main dishes!

- Pork Bibimbap -

By looking at it's presentation, THEY WIN IT!

- Hot Plate Bibimbap -

In fact, I love Bibimbap and we had two pots of bibimbap in addition with a plate of fried pancake. Over eating that night for two of us, but it was delicious!!

- Bibimbap -

Stirred Bibimbap! Both of them were scrumptious, tender meat as for the pork one. Stirred all of it together with their sauce, can't wait for another bite.

- Kimchi Pancake -

Kimchi pancake by The Bab's still acceptable, maybe it wasn't what I have expected. I tried a few Korean style pancake in town, I liked it and I'm still searching for the best one in town!

Overall, dinner at The Bab's was GOOD, however, the guy who took our order was a bit "gangsta" styled, I was totally surprised with the way he talk while taking our order. (No patient) *Boo*

I paid two person in total of RM78.00++ that night, gosh.

October Coffee House, The Peak Vista

It is not an extraordinary name when they mentioned "October Coffee House".

Finally we have the chance to sit in and had a drink weeks ago, definitely one of the best place to hang out during week days and even weekends.

Well, just remember to visit them during non peak hours, I was there during peak and you can't imagine that I only could have a cup of coffee during my third visit to October.

- Cappuccino -

Here are some of the photos that I took during my visit with bae during one Friday night. :)

I don't want to talk many on their coffee, it is because THEY ARE GOOD and bae love it too! :)

- Coffee Machine and Coffee Making Station -

- Our Coffee -

- Hint on Vintage -

- At one Corner -

Not only they are serving good coffee, they have cakes and homemade Korean bread and other finger food too!

Check them out when you have time!

That French Restaurant by Le Safran, The Peak Vista @ KKCity

It was my first time to dine in at Le Safran which moved from Suria Sabah to The Peak Vista, Likas.

My office had held our Annual Dinner at the venue months ago, and here we are with some of the photos that I took during our dinner that night. :)

- Appetizer -

Either soup or salad that we can choose according to their set menu which my office got from them before that night.

The main dish which we can choose were Lamb, Beef and chicken (I can't remember there's fish in the menu or not), just like any other restaurant.

- The Interior design -

Dim light and cozy place for small chat.

- Main Course -

Dolled up for annual dinner (#asos)!

- Dessert -

Overall, there's space for Le Safran to improve just like what I have commented before (for their previous outlet at Suria Sabah). It was a bit disappointing that we had an average taste of the steak prepared by Le Safran.

The pancake was quite tasteless which if it could be served warm and thin pancake top up with the ice cream, the dessert would taste much better.

Sorry to say that, Le Safran won't be my top list to dine in in the future, and exceptional for invitation from friends!

Cheers! Have a great day ahead!

Chillin at Chef Tan's, The Peak Vista, #KK

Lazying on a Sunday evening perhaps is the great thing to do before starting a new week. :)

It was the last Sunday of 2013 when I visited Chef Tan's and while October Cafe was packed with customer on that same evening.

- Chef Tan's -

There's only us on that evening and before the restaurant was packed with customers having dinner later.

Lovely environment for a silent afternoon and a bit of chit chat.

Cheese cake was good and bottled coffee was nice. :)

- Menu -

Reasonably priced for beverages and even meals (Chinese dishes for lunch and dinner).

- Waffles -

One of my favourite comfort food. The flavour was okay, except for the waffles' texture, it was a bit "wet" when we had it.

- Chef Tan's -

A nice restaurant to dine in when there's no place to go. :)

@MOSPHERE - Revolving Restaurant & Bar, K. K., Sabah

Updated on 22.09.2011 - The Restaurant has closed down.

Went to @mosphere for annual dinner.

Food was okay and quite worth for the price. However, their service was quite unsatisfied!

Leaved the office around 5.30pm and rushed to the restaurant to see the amazing sunset view. Luckily by the time we reached (almost 6.15pm/ 6.30pm), the sunset waited for us and It's really AMAZING!

Very nice table setting in the restaurant and it feel relaxed while we are sitting with friends for chit chat. They have divided the restaurant in to a place for dining, bar and space of a drink with friends till midnight.

See?

The signature drinks and Sabah Sensitivity that include Sabah Montoku (Sabah very own local alcoholic drink) in it!

Ordered some drinks (on my senior) before we had our dinner and waited for others to arrive. Referred to the waiters to have Happy Hour drink which cost lower and they told us that the menu was it and ACTUALLY NOT! As for happy hour, drinks is cost RM12.00 on selective one.

Orange Juice & Strawberry smoothie.

And I had their @ signature drink - Long Beach Island Tea! I love!

See the night view outside? It's really amazing when the restaurant revolving from one end to the other and it reached the same spots where we were sitting after 1 hour.

Wine on my boss.

He really love to drink as what I heard. Always asking us whether want to have liquor or not.

Oh yea~~ Before that, about their services... It's really dissatisfied that one of them was rude while serving us with a nasty voice that we doesn't like and another waiter even poured few glasses of water on my back when she was trying to serve us. I think she was trying to serve drinks to my colleague who sitting opposite me and Splash!!! There goes my dress...

Sigh**** to be for such a great revolving restaurant with such untrained services.

Luckily I'm wearing my Sheer Dress and it's easily dried and I think she was lucky that I didn't show my temper because I was on my phone with my manager. It happened in seconds and luckily my precious camera didn't get wet and felt so sad for my Coach handbag. wtf.

Finally... FOOD! We had Western Set Menu.

-Garden Fresh lettuce Leaves Tossed in a Balsilmic Vinegar-

-Fisherman Chowder-

Served with fresh seafood. Nice!

Here comes the main courses!

-Oven Baked Fish-

Served with creamy potatoes and vegetables strudel.

-Casserole of Lamb Shank-

with garden vegetables on the bed of creamy potatoes. (Recommended)

And I had difficulties in having the ribeye, can't eat it because it had so much vein in it!

-Grilled Ribeye-

Served with limbale potatoes and vegetables ragout drizzle with peppercorn foam.

Wow~~ Dessert time while it was almost 10.00pm!

-Chocolate Brownies served with Berries Compote-
Nice brownies with coffee ice cream! Nice!

Once again, their signature logo!

Hi Seoul!! Korean Restaurant - Likas Square, K.K., Sabah

A nee o, Ha Se Yo!!!

Last year, I went to a nice Korean Restaurant called "Hi Seoul!! at Likas Square, Kota Kinabalu on my elder sister's birthday.

The dishes served was very delicious.

Kimchii

Ginseng Chicken Soup with Glulitine rice.
The soup really taste great with the smell of Ginseng. Saw the long ginseng??

Pumpkin soup. Is kind of sweet for me, I still prefer my homemade pumpkin soup..^^

Famous beef for Korean dish. WOW!!! My saliva drolling now. Yummy!!! Nyum nyum!!

I love the below dish. All in one. Vegetables and meat. *two thumbs up*

Well.... as for the price, it's a little expensive or reasonable for few of us to have such a great dinner. We ordered 5 or 6 pax of beef for RM18 per pax. I still remember the smell and the gravy for the beef. Real nice.
Go and have a try in that new Korean Restaurant ya~~
