I always say that scenery in Sabah is always catchy. "The Land Below the Wind", a state that is not advance, and yet not laid back, it is just nice.
It was quite sometimes that I have not been visiting Kundasang area, while experiencing that cold breezy air and appreciate the wonders of our Mt. Kinabalu.

First stop - Nabalu Kundasang
It takes about 1 and half hour from Kota Kinabalu City to reach Kundasang area and one of the best spot to have a good photo of Mt. Kinabalu while buying some snacks and some local delish atNabalu Kundasang.
In fact, fruits and vegetable are fresh and also can be found in Kota Kinabalu City.

A short visiting before we headed to Kinabalu Pine Resort for lunch. Lunch was delicious with local fried noodles as our choice.

The perfect view to experience Mt. Kinabalu scene with near distance. But, the cloud covered the mountain slightly in the afternoon.
One of the best time is to see from 6.30am! Need to stay overnight to see the view next morning.

Mesilau located 100km away from Kota Kinabalu City. The air is cold and we encouraged friends and family to wear sweater of thick clothes when we headed there.

With good publicity of Desa by the locals and tourist with "Little New Zealand of Malaysia", Desa provide a range of product from milk, gelato, yogurt, pizza and more. Some of the specialties only can be tasted here at Mesilau.
As for milk and yogurt, we can purchase from supermarket from our neighbor hood.
The rain started to fall after our visiting to Desa, while on the way back to Kota Kinabalu, we did passed by Kinabalu Park while I was having my nap, therefore no photos available to show here!

My mom always said that there's one shop that having one of the best BBQ Roasted Pork and Pork Yam.
I have been here before, but can't really recall how it taste and recent visit to Papar for "jalan-jalan dekat Sabah".
Did I told you that Sabah having all kinds of noodle named after each province, from Tuaran Mee, Tamparuli Mee, Kota Belud Mee and Sandakan Mee. I don't think Papar claimed having Papar mee, but for sure having the best roasted pork here at Papar.
Operated for more than 80 years from older generation until the current generation of the 3rd and 4th. The name Leong Yung Hua 梁荣华 was named after their great grandfather who were originated from China, and why do the shop was named such, its all because Chinese always named after our name back then, no fancy signature, and especially the recipe by their great grandfather as well.
I always wonder what does a small town like Papar could offer for meal. Not many for sure. ;) If you know any other good recommendation here in Papar, do let me know!

本地人的小吃。 在亚庇, 卖着锅贴水饺有好多家。 在这篇文章我觉得不错的是这几家。
We called it as dumplings, either served with fried or boiled. Normally we can find it at local coffee shops, a small stall around the corner. Dumplings should be said as a side dish or snack during tea time or small eateries (light meals).

They always say that Sang Nyuk Mian is a must eat when we visit Sabah. There are also a few coffee shops that are selling the same menus and of course, each have their difference taste as well. :) Which one is the most recommended one they asked, it just depends on personal preference. :)
In fact, I had Sang Nyuk Mian almost once or twice in a month although I'm not a Sang Nyuk Mian lover. It's the fastest preparation of meal for breakfast and I always go for that two Sang Nyuk Mian restaurant.
Have you ever wonder what's this "Sang Nyuk Mian"? It's a hakka dialect of pork slices ("Sang Nyuk") Noodle ("Mian"). In Sabah, many of us know what's Sang Nyuk Mian, regardless of what races are we. The ingredients can be ordered according to our preference, we can choose pork slices, pork intestines and others.
- 新苏兰生肉面 Sinsuran Sang Nyuk Mian -
装修后的新苏兰生肉面有了新的面孔了, 现在可以容纳更多客人。你知道吗? 美食界出名的 Martin Yan 颁了沙巴华人美食奖给这家老板呢!
The newly renovated Sinsuran Sang Nyuk Mian Restaurant. You know what? Even the famous Chef, Martin Yan did gave award to them for Best Chinese Food in the World, if I'm not mistaken.
Few months ago, I was invited by NTV7 to be the co-host for Sabah Episode, I have brought them to Sinsuran Sang Nyuk Mian, Lintas branch for food hunting. :) The specialty of the restaurant was using charcoal to prepare their dishes. Perhaps the broth is also their secret as well, I believe of aging while running a restaurant business.
