CLOSED - Spotted Nasi Katok Brunei #NKB @ Damai, #KKCity

On usual weekend, I will be having the Economic Noodles by Fook Yuan or the Meat Bun by Cha Kee Tiam, or maybe the fish noodle by Houng Kee.

Just out of some random days, we had our breakfast at JW's Corner and spotted one new stall for breakfast!

It was my first to try out Nasi Katok Brunei. *Yum*

 

- Mixed selection -

There's three options to choose - Butter Chicken, Pandan Chicken and Fried Chicken!

Pandan Chicken was nice! Soft textured meat with Pandan smell. :)

- The Meat -

Mr. Yusri is a nice person and I also had a short conversation with him sometime last week after he found out I was the one shared the photo of #NKB via instagram @meitzeu!

Just wanted to say it was nice breakfast with bae too. :)

It's all about HOMEMADE! By The Organic Beancurd Shop (豆花小铺) @ Damai, #KKEats

So, The Organic Beancurd Shop might be a little bit too long to remember.

In fact, they got a hastag to remember - #TOBSKK!

- Cold Beancurd aka Taufa -

It's Taufa, not Tau Fu Fa, it's more health conscious and safe to be consumed.

#TOBS started their business few months ago and people love how the texture tasted like, just like others, I love the smooth texture which melt on the minute it's inside my mouth.

Mr. Tan had so much passion experimenting the best taste to suit customers taste buds.

Spot them at Damai or maybe the dessert at some of the local coffee shops in K.K.!

:) Refreshing Tau Fa on a hot day? Their beancurd would be one of the best choice.

CLOSED - #Saturdate at Coffee Jazz Mixers @ Lintas, KK

Another laid back session with #Saturdate (Take Another Step).

 Beverly mentioned a few times before we actually have the time to sit down and had a sip.

 All because of the Coffee Biscuit that they have in Coffee Jazz Mixer.

 

- Coffee Biscuit @ RM5.80 -

We could select either coffee or chocolate drink in the biscuit that we are going to have, so we had chocolate for a try. Nothing much that I can say, if only the cookies taste nicer, they do need improvement in it. 

- Mango Yogurt Smoothie and Peach Yogurt Smoothie @ RM9.90 each -

They smoothie were sweet but its okay if we had another cup of plain water.

Furthermore, they do have meal as well! Beverly said that the rice was acceptable.

CLOSED - BurgerBar.co & Patrick's Signature (by Party Play Lifestyle Cafe)

Another concept by Party Play Lifestyle Cafe.

Located at the exact spot where Party Play Lifestyle Cafe would be. 

And now, they are serving pork as well!

- Patrick's Signature -

The first day when they changed their menu, three of us (was with my manager and colleague) went to try their new Chinese menu - The Set Lunch.

Totally a huge changes of Party Play from fusion cuisine to mainly Chinese cuisine. 

I like their Singaporean Laksa which was not that spicy (except for the recent one that I couldn't finish, it was extremely spicy for us). Prawns was huge before. Hopefully they will maintain their quality as the first time we had our Laksa. :)

- Patrick's Signature -

I couldn't recall what was it called. In fact, I do not favour this dish personally, very weird taste of yellow noodle.

Besides what I've shown here, they do serve pork belly with rice and others as well, there are other ala cart menu for selection as well.

And the newly launched burger outlet in town.

- BurgerBar.co -

Three of us had lunch together at BurgerBar.co before it was officially launched.

As compared with my first visit to the second visit (last month), service was improved a bit more and same goes to their food presentation.

- Italian Job -

Personally, I like to eat burger once in a while. I had green tea bun (love it) for my selection, so the bun is green! (Don't ask me why it is green again and again!)

At Burgerbar.co, it will be self service, we order our meal and pay at the counter. Beef patty taste okay and overall, burger was nice. I do love their grilled tomato!

On my recent visit to KL, burger was awesome by My Burgerlab. Nomnom! Scrumptious juicy beef patty.

- Fries with Spices -

With additional RM7.00 (correct me if I made a mistake), we could have fries together with bottomless soft drink. I like fries, but if the fries is thicker, it would be perfect with those sprinkled spices! :)

CLOSED - Its a BOMB! Bomber's Burger @ Gaya Street, K.K.

Have been heard Bomber's Burger for quite sometime and finally a few weeks ago, three of us (meatball-online, mum and me) went to Bomber's Burger for dinner. :) Luckily we were early to get our seats!

Its a classic American burger store concept attracts people to try out this burger restaurant, located at our oldest street in Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Street.

So, three of us had these!

This is satisfying and just reminds me of my childhood!

I had Route 66 @ RM14.00, medium beef. Beef patty was a bit dry, and overall still okay. Well, the portion is filling and I can't finish my burger.

CLOSED - Oh! So this is Newspaper Cafe, Bundusan, K.K.

Very quiet area, simple furnishing with some artistic painting around the wall.

Months ago, my manager went and try dishes by Newspaper Cafe while celebrating her hubby's birthday. Interesting name by the owner and food by them are okay as commented by my manager.

One fine night, we went there for a cup of drink.

- Newspaper Cafe - 

A fusion restaurant, creative menu that combine Western and Japanese food.

Very interesting graffiti, mixed with all kinds of heroes and creative imaginary characters. 

The mussels we had surprisingly we spotted a little crab in it. (@_@) Taste, it's okay. Nothing much I can comment about as not many we ordered, simply enjoy the quiet moment over there.

CLOSED - A Cozy Night to be - Christmas Lighting Dinner at Bella Italia, Jln Gaya, KK.

Few more weeks to Christmas and few more days to my birthday. I'm excited about Christmas and maybe  little (or nothing) for my birthday but Hmm :S maybe can't expect too much though. :( In a matter of facts, my Christmas will be so much lonely than ever this year.

Oh well~ Was tagging along with Meatball and her friend to attend the Christmas Lighting Dinner by Bella Italia on Tuesday, 29th November with the invitation by the Chef Leo while Terence was busying with his work.

- Bella Italia, Mediterranean inspired cuisine in Borneo, Jalan Gaya -

It wasn't my first visit to Bella Italia. :) And still, they are having the nice and cozy restaurant as usual with Christmas songs played by pianist at the corner of the restaurant.

Ignore that huge macaron, it's belongs to Meatball friend which she brought there to let us see. :P

Cookies and hot chocolate to start with before our dinner.

The dinner was held with a warmth menu which includes the dishes that Chef Leo would love to introduce and served during the All You Can Eat Dinner at RM65.00 as seen on their Facebook Page for the Christmas Promotion (click) they will be having.

Besides, Christmas Set Menu for 4 - 6 persons was ready for these festive season too. :) And there's one of our plan for our family to celebrate "Winter" season before Chinese New Year.

CLOSED - Milo Volcano & Hainan Chicken Rice at Wishbone Restaurant, Jalan Gaya

Ello~ It's one special post from Sketches of Life to my readers on 11.11.11. ;) How's your day today? As for me.. were lunch at Pizza Hut and not feeling that happy today. :(

Anyway!

Once in a while, shopping is essential to relax your feet. :P especially when there's public holiday on weekday!

And after having the short walk, my sister, meatball suggested us (the whole family member) to have a try at Wishbone Restaurant which located along Jalan Gaya for our lunch.

- Wishbone Restaurant -

Located at one of the old building in the main city of Kota Kinabalu. Lot 109, Jalan Gaya.

- Beverages Menu -

The list of price are reasonable in city like ours.

Personally, I did not ordered from the list, but I have tried something new and it was called "MILO VOLCANO" which recommended by Meatball after she had her first try!

- Why they are CHEF -

In Wishbone theory are Classic. Healthy. Economic and Fast.

- MILO VOLCANO! -

Such a huge mug of Milo Volcano that could be shared by few person. Although it look sweet, but actually it taste not. A recommended drink if we go there for a visit. :)

- Tempting not?? -

Hensley Chocolate Syrup, Milo powder, special ice cream and et cetera.. Combining with extra special ingredients, we might love it at the first taste! ;P

- Watan Ho M Size -

I had Watan Ho that day and it taste was ordinary with reasonable price for it. It's around RM8.00 ++.

- The legendary Hainan Chicken Rice (M Size) -

Likewise, the chicken taste was nice as told by meatball. ;) Price was reasonable and it cost RM5.00 Only for S Size, although it was S, the portion just nice for small eater.

CLOSED - Having afternoon tea at Boutique Cupcakes after shopping!

Me, my sister (meatball) and her friend were searching for Silver dresses around town for weeks. 

During one fine Saturday afternoon, between our mission of searching for Silver dresses to wear as Sisters on their best friend's/ friend's wedding (which I have invitation too), we went to have a short afternoon tea session at Boutique Cupcakes, City Mall.

- Tea selection -

I can't recall what I had, but I don't really favour it much. Weird taste I had after all these years. :S

- King's Omelet served with Vege Salad and Potatoes Crackers -

Quite a large portion served and we shared among us! :) It taste quite okay.

- Ciabatta Bread with Tuna -

Large portion with so much Tuna fillings!

- Lemon Meringue Tart -

The white foam was hard, and that's meringue. Neh~ I like creamy type of tarts, but not this.

- Coffee-Addict Cupcake -

Varieties of Cupcakes to be selected, and we chose Coffee-addict.

Generous ingredient added into the cupcakes and serving their customer well with the savouring flavour to have. 

FYI, there's 50% for all items at the counter after 9.00pm daily! Noticed it when I was at City Mall during my dad birthday few days ago while I was having my hot chocolate and ice cream at Vedablu. Thus, I bought one as my breakfast for the next morning (pic here).

Yea~ Another afternoon tea I like without worries. However, I love more of my previous visit over there (click here).

CLOSED - All You Can Eat CRABS, Bella Italia, KK

Remember that I participated the Shopaholic Bazaar held for 3 days continuously until Sunday, 30th July, 2011?

I went off earlier on Sunday and bought my parents dinner at Bella Italia in conjunction with the "All You Can Eat Crabs" promotion and FYI, it was the last day of the promotion on the same day too.

- Bella Italia, Jalan Gaya -

With RM35.00 per person, we could have all the four different cooking style of crabs with additional side dishes. And if we could finish all on the same night, I will say "THAT'S CRAZY & HUGE TUMMY YOU GOT THERE!!" 

The crab fest was satisfying and we managed to have 2 different cooking style of crabs with additional side dishes as you scroll further. :)

- Table presentation -

The table and seats that prepared for us was grand and huge (in a "room" with see through glass). However, we did switched to a smaller table to blend in with other dining guests.

Thank you Bella Italia for preparing us such a grand seats for us before we switches to another smaller table that night.
