【台湾游玩记】台中的心情! Fun In Taiwan : I Love TAICHUNG! (Overview)

Hey! :) Didn't thought of I will be updating my Taiwan trip in this short period of time?

From my previous post on "Readers~~ I'm back from TW!", I have found out that there were readers who can't wait to read about my Taiwan trip and I think is better to write an overview before I write in details about every interesting destinations I went some time in future. Oh ya~ About Meatball Turtle, it is belong to Meatball (my elder sister)! So, go and say HI to her!

Here we go by looking through places I have visited at Taichung (3 days 2 night) in this entry!

See how 10 of us exploring Taiwan within 6 days 5 nights!

- Feng Jia (逢甲), TaiChung -

Like the words on the billboard, Feng Jia street really crazily happening during the night and especially when it was getting late! 逢甲瘋街了! Crowded with handsome and pretty youngsters during the night, that area was totally different during the day which was silent and not much shops start operating before 11.00am.

- Feng Jia Night Market -

One of the street at Feng Jia Night Market with more small eateries (小食)stalls and less restaurants we could see over there/ around night markets area in Taiwan. Varieties of small eateries that we can have a bite while walking along the street, no worry of being hungry YOU KNOW OR NOT?!

We had so much on the first day with foods and beverages while walking along the street. With the hot weather and heaty foods, therefore, drinking plenty of water/ juice is a must! Oh my, eating small eateries for days were killing me and I didn't had much after my first night. :P

- Snail Onion Pancake -

LOLzz! :D Naive us thought it was really made of Snail, but actually NOT, it is only the figure and the appearance which looks like one.

FYI, Night Market in Taiwan are super huge and be prepared to walk a lot as a tourist!! And one more tips, fashionable items such as clothes are easily found and price was quite reasonable (basically a simple piece of top may cost NT250 as an average pricing), but if you manage to visit Taipei, go and shop there!! Personally, I prefer to shop at malls, however I did choose some pieces from the small outlets at night markets too, both TaiChung and TaiPei. :) (Likewise, they told me not to bring much clothes and yea~ I brought less clothes to Taiwan and started wearing all the new ones after the short trip at TaiChung.) ;)

- Sun Moon Lake (日月潭)-

Personally, Sun Moon Lake will be one of the must visit place with beautiful scenery and boat cruising. Experiencing the authentic herbal egg is a must at SyuanGuang Temple (玄光寺). *Yummy!* Besides, we did experienced the native performance there too.

Hiring a driver with reasonable charges to bring us around will be nice for tourists and our friendly driver, Brother Zhang (张哥哥) drove us to visit few interesting places (not only 18'C, but also a few souvenir outlets too) and experiencing interesting stuffs on our journey from Feng Jia to wherever we were heading to and vice versa.

- Must have Beef Noodles while visiting Taiwan (any restaurant will do) -

Hiring a driver will ease all of us and not wasting our precious time by hopping into public transportation and heading to our destination which normally located far from one and another. In short, hiring a driver allow us to visit more interesting places!! And eating different kind of foods too!

- 18'C Feeling Eighteen -

Brother Zhang brought us to eat ice cream (Above: NT80 per cup) and it was fruity-licious! There was a touching story behind the outlets that I was told by meatball yesterday. :'( 18'C was operated by the owner as a remembrance to his son who died at the age of 18. Furthermore, do try their TRUFFLES, it was SO GOOD!

Okay~ I'm gonna stop here and stay tuned for the overview on my Taipei (3 days 2 nights) trip! For those who will be visiting Taiwan, please do some "homework", so that you will know what kind of holiday you want to have in Taiwan, either shopping more (Shopping paradise) or visiting interesting places (I like most and I could see the true face of Taiwan from there) less and vice versa.

Toodles!

The crab fest was satisfying and we managed to have 2 different cooking style of crabs with additional side dishes as you scroll further. :)

The table and seats that prepared for us was grand and huge (in a "room" with see through glass). However, we did switched to a smaller table to blend in with other dining guests.

Thank you Bella Italia for preparing us such a grand seats for us before we switches to another smaller table that night.

- Crabs waiting to be cooked -

Here's what we had that night! Its satisfying dinner prepared by Chef Leo!

Its SCRUMPTIOUS!

- The Bronze Globe -

- The Bronze Globe -

- A short tea session at T's uncle house at Kudat -

And it's located in the Kudat village where we need to drive further in by using the bumpy road. Its a typical "Kampung" Village. :)

Something that I might not get used to and learned extraordinary experience.

Back to the Olden Days with Dinner at Sek Yuan Restaurant (适苑酒家), Jalan Pudu, KL.

The nicest thing to do during my KL trip was shopping and eating. Especially if I was there with both of my parents, their friends will surely bring us to taste something extraordinary and nothing much disappointment if we join them for dinner. :)

After having a walk at Bukit Bintang area, finally its time for DINNER!

Mom's friend, Alex dated mom in advance asked us to meet up with him at Sek Yuan Restaurant, Jalan Pudu which we never attempted their food before.

 - Sek Yuan Restaurant, without air-conditioned -

Sek Yuan Restaurant started their business since 60 years ago for the first outlet without air-conditioned. Heard that their even hang old photographs inside the restaurant.

- Sek Yuan Restaurant with air-conditioned -

However, we went to its branch which located next to the main one and the second branch started operating since 40 years.

Both of them are old and the design inside will be something familiar too.

- The Restaurant with air-conditioned -

Now you understand what am I talking about?

The design of the interior was something familiar that I encounter with when I was little. What an old designed restaurant in the middle of KL. And wait till you see it yourself, even the waiter and waitress wearing old school designed blouses. *interesting*

- Lantern -

Even the lantern/ light looks traditional/ old schooled.

Or, should I say, every corner I saw old fashioned design and furniture?

- Pre-ordered menu -

As for those extraordinary dishes as above, pre-order need to be done one day before to prevent disappointment. Eg. Various Pork dishes, duck dishes, prawns and etc...

As for the following, those were the dishes we had during dinner. Food was good and the dessert was refreshing!

- Pi Pa Duck 枇杷鸭 -

From what I heard, the duck skin should be crunchy and as for the meat, it was still okay for us that day and they told me that, normally the duck will taste very good!

- Sweet and Sour Fish -

- Mixed Vegetables with Oysters -

 - Ma Po Tauhu 麻坡豆腐 -

- Syrup Jelly with Longan Dessert -

Aww~~~ I never had this nice refreshing dessert in Chinese restaurant before! Yummy! And I had two bowl of it!

- The Charges -

Foods served was good and extraordinary Chinese dishes that I have encountered for some. And as for the price that the dinner cost, it was reasonably cheap for 6 persons  with RM144.80 only, if compared to the high price in KK!

Thank you Alex for the awesome treat that night, all of us were satisfied with the food you know. :)

No. 313, Jalan Pudu, 55100 KL.

【生活点滴】 Updates : Next Week! And that's AWESOME!!

Finally its Friday and after one more stressful working day (next Monday), I will be stepping my foot in Taiwan! I'm hype with my upcoming awesome fruitful trip (suppose to be) next Tuesday!

Hope everything will be great and the weather will be good when we are there. :)

Last Sunday, KK group of friends to Taiwan had a small discussion session to sort out all our local phone numbers and other matters. I saw our smile of excitement were as large as a clown with huge red lip or maybe yellow. LOLzz :D

- Pompom meeting Ice Hippo! -

If you read my previous post on "Walking along with my little companion Pompom, the Bear", you will know something about our intention to have those little cute soft toys!

Once again, those little soft toys will be our mascot representing few of us (of course the more, the merrier) on the photography session during our trip at Taiwan. And as for other friends who are joining us and reading this entry while feeling like having one mascot while trying something different, do bring one and I'm sure we will be having fun by then. ;)

Not a large one, a size of our palm or smaller will be fine and not necessary to be an expensive one. Just like Pompom, I found Pompom in my soft/ little toys bottle that I stuffed together with all the little small toys inside FOR YEARSSSS.

- Taichung 台中市 -

One of our destination to visit!

- Pompom will be visiting to all the highlighted area! -

- Our starting point -

Arrggghhhh!!! Taipei 台北 for food and shopping!!!

I'm so gonna be a round faced girl after the trip! :D

- Maybe PLANKING at Taiwan? -

- Pompom meeting Meatball Turtle -

Meatball turtle belongs to my sister (Meatball from "...of mine!") while Ice Hippo (in the first pic) of this post belongs to W, a good friend of meatball who was smiling behind both of the mascots. :P

FYI, there was one additional friend to the mascots which was an unnamed cute doggie soft toy.
(Can't wait to take photographs of it together with others!)

So.... partners in crime, are we prepared for the trip next week?!
