Updates : Fascinating May! I'M LOVING IT, #SABAH!!

Hey Hey! It's been a while since the last update on "Updates" :D

So I gonna make this short and interesting!

 - Trip to Sapi Island -

There were exactly 14 of us (12 bloggers and 3 friends) and yet so long since the last gathering with the awesome Sabahan Bloggers!

We got sponsored by Coral Flyer Island to Island to experience the world's longest island to island zipline.

And hah! The monopod I bought is ONE OF THE USEFUL TOOL for photography! Me LOVE!

 - View from Sapi Island to Gaya Island -

Love this shot that I took! :) Simply what we could see here.

- Photo credit to Borneo Frog -

Not scared but enjoying the time I had up there! WEEE~~~

I'm thinking of trying the paragliding and maybe hot air balloon too, before its too late!!!

- By #Kendylife -

Being supportive and supporting Kendy idea to promote Sabah month! Check out Kendy's blog for more information!

- Sabah Fest 2014 -

Appreciate the effort of Sabah Tourism to make this happen.

- Road Trip to Tamparuli -

It was Labour Day and Dad drove us all the way to Tamparuli from KK to have a plate of authentic Tamparuli Noodles!

- Ah Lai White Curry Mee VS My Kuali White Curry Mee -

It's the trend to eat WHITE CURRY MEE! I tried both and both have their own special taste. Generous spices by MY KUALI which made the whole bowl of noodles spicy with the red oil! While AH LAI in the other hand, fairly white with the creamer after cook. And overall, it just depends which one we favour the most, seems like both are nice and Ah Lai's taste just nice, not overly spiced after finishing the whole bowl!

That's all for my updates! :) Cheers!

BTW, do follow me at my FACEBOOK PAGE for more updates too!

Puncak Highlands, Indonesia : Taman Safari Indonesia, Cisarua - Bogor

Indonesia Part 2 - Taman Safari Indonesia,

Hours drive after having lunch at Bogor and visiting to Taman Mini, we reached Taman Safari which is cold and kind of adventurous!

- Safari and Night Safari Recreation -

Safari Park Indonesia is well known with their outdoor wildlife in action, whereby vehicles can drive through to enjoy the scene with wildlifes next to us! Amazing! Indonesia Safari Park really opens my eye, good management in putting effort to take care of the wildlife with the suitable temperatures at the highlands.

- Elephants -

We can't see any solid cages that caged the animals, some of the animals can walk freely from one place to another, no boundaries.

Here are some photos that you might get a hint about Indonesia Safari Park. :)

- Picking up trash -

- Brown Bear -

- Rhinoceros -

- Tigers -

All of the wildlife there are in a herd and in healthy condition.

We saw hippo, lamas and other familiar and non familiar animals.

After our outdoor trip via vehicles, its time for us to walk down the bus and get in touch with birds and other wildlife nearer.

- Baby Zoo -

Wildlife that suitable to be placed indoor will be here for us to get in touch with.

- Bird Park -

- Orang Utans -

- Coupons to take photos -

- White Tiger -

- Cub -

Super adorable and we can takes lots of photos!!!! Either with your camera or theirs, just pay!

KK : Mai Yai Thai Orchid Restaurant, The Waterfront 【沙巴食】 亚庇 - 泰式

It was my second visit to Mai Yai Thai Orchid Restaurant located at one of the most strategic location in K.K. City and non the less, the tourist area!

In fact, K.K. do not have much selection on Thai Restaurant which I come across, there's only at least three from which I have tried and knew. Variety of selections from the menu and I do love Green Curry and one of the best I have tried was during my visit in KL and one from my cousin's restaurant in KK few years ago (no more operating now).

- Our Meal -

There's only three of us, all ladies that night. My manager brought us to dine at the restaurant which we have some discount voucher which I bought months ago. (hehe :P)

That's portion was crazy and other customers just blinked their eye when they saw what we had!

- Pineapple Rice -
One of the recommended dish and it's a must to eat at any Thai Restaurant! Sweet and fragrant smell of the rice just made us eat more!

- Seafood Tom Yum Soup and Mango appetizer -

Mai Yai Thai Orchid Restaurant claimed that they hired authentic Thai chef originally from Thailand, which I can't agree more. It's like there's difference in taste when the original Thais who prepared the meal.

Overall, the environment is good with outdoor seats for guest to enjoy the sea view (especially during lunch and evening for drinks). The food was good, however it depends which we ordered, I won't recommend the grilled crabs by them, it was a bit dried! As for what I recommended, the Green Curry, Tom Yum and others which are not seafood and no fried food please. :)

Jakarta, Indonesia : Indonesia in Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah" (Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park)!

Indonesia Part 1 - Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah", Jakarta

It was the first time we celebrate our Chinese New Year outside the country last year (2013).

And it was also kind of different experience that we actually had KFC as our reunion dinner for the first time too!

- The morning Sun -

We reached Jakarta on the reunion night and the first day of CNY was wonderful with all the smiles from tour mates too!

By the way, it was midnight when we reached Jakarta, we saw fireworks from above the sky. Yup! There are Chinese Indonesian who celebrate CNY there (not many, but still there's spirit of CNY. :)

- Kek Lapis -

Local cake that was delicious which our tourist guide treated us on the first day of CNY. :) Mr. Han Han, our local Chinese Indonesian tourist guide who seldom communicate Chinese language but able to communicate with us and even sang songs for us on the day we left Indonesia. ADD OIL Mr. Han Han!

He told us that Kek Lapis for them is a symbol of growing up in their Chinese culture. Just like our  年糕 (Nian Gao)!

- Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera) -

The first destination was Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah", Taman Mini is a tourist destination that displaying the miniature houses of  at least 26 provinces in Indonesia. Besides that, there's art and handicrafts display as well, we can purchase them and experience the lifestyle of Indonesian as well.

In fact, Sabahan like us are used to have Indonesian around us since young age, therefore, I'm still okay with their culture. One more thing that for those who thought Indonesia is not a good country, you are WRONG!! And I've said that to myself as well, Jakarta is well developed with high rise buildings and even well managed infrastructure and shopping was GREAT there! Affordable price with good quality (depends where we are heading).

- Spotted this -

Well trained monkey for entertainment. Indonesian really are hardworking people, they find ways to earn for a  living, even at the main roads when vehicles stopped for red lights! Gosh!

- Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera) -

The must have pose of meitzeu at one place.
I wonder how many times more I can do that!

- The temple of Kung Hu Zhi (孔子) -

The confucius philosopher.

- This is Indonesia! -

Random shot from the tour bus and it was crowded with the locals there!

- Bali in Taman Mini -

Another province in Indonesia. I want to visit Bali!!! I mean the real Bali. :)

 - Bali -

- Bali -

- Skylift Indonesia -

Our tour was inclusive of skylift sight seeing as well (ticket Rp. 25,000), the scenery was great! Many miniature provinces that we saw.

- Skylift Indonesia -

- Skylift Indonesia -

Even they resized that map of Indonesia, Kalimantan etc.

I saw Sabah and Sarawak too, but not the above!

- One of the Miniature House -

After our tour at Taman Mini, we went for lunch. The tour package arranged by the tour company we subsribed really put effort on food, they search meals that suit us most and gave us the luxury that we should have!

- Buns -

I never knew Indonesia have their own version of buns, just like the Chinese.

Location :
East Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia.
