Star Cruise (SSG) to Langkawi Island (浮羅交怡)

Part 4 of Star Cruises Trip 2008 with Superstar Gemini (SSG) - Underwater World Langkawi, Black Sand Beach, Kota Mahsuri and "The Eagle", Langkawi Island (浮羅交怡)

We arrived Langkawi after our overnight trip in Phuket and Langkawi was our last destination to visit during our Star Cruise trip back then.

- Langkawi Port -

"Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia."  - Wikipedia 

Langkawi is a calm and relaxing with it's very "green" environment. :) It was not my first visit to Langkawi, I remember that I was there when I was still a little girl and we revisit the destinations that we visited before.

- Underwater World Langkawi -

Interesting underwater world that I love the most, birds were walking freely in there and even pass through us. How cute was that? All the creatures in there are alive, there's swans, mandarin ducks, flamingo and others which usual for us to see them.

I could spend quite some time at Underwater World, we could see so many creatures in there!! 

And we proceed to the next tourist spot.

- Kota Mahsuri - 

"Formerly known as Makam Mahsuri (Mahsuri's Mausoleum), Kota Mahsuri was erected in honour of Mahsuri, a fair maiden who was unjustly accused of adultery more than 200 years ago." - Virtual Malaysia

Amazed that the legend still remain till now, the seventh generation of Mahsuri was found and live among us.

- Black Sand Beach -

Just like the name, there's certainly black sand at their beach. However, the black sand was so much lesser than years ago, maybe tourist or the locals collectively took away the black sand which believe could chase the dark spirit away and end up people who came to visit year by year are unable to enjoy the black sandy beach. :(

- Langkawi Landmark : The Eagle -

The last place to visit on a rainy afternoon and off we were back to the port and leaving back to Port Klang.

Star Cruise's Trip 2008

I've been reminded by a friend of mine who would love to go on board. Some old pictures during the Star Cruise Trip on Superstar Gemini.

Aww.....I miss that trip, where peoples treating us like someone respectful and about the foods....OMG!!! It's all free and all you can eat from Blue cheese, chocolate day for those who depart from Singapore, pastry, BBQ lamb, beef, salads.... too much to mention, but remember!! Except liquid drinks that we have to order & pay for our bill, just like any hotel. No free alcohol.

We saw some people ate so much that they have gain their weight but that didn't include my family...lol.

Gala Dinner Night - Star Cruise Gemini

Raining the whole morning & afternoon. It was Freezingggg~~~

Forgotten about my Gala Dinner with the Cruise Captain that was months ago. We manage to have dinner with the Cruise Captain that night, but the night before we must place a booking so that we have the opportunity to have a nice dinner with Captain. We arrive punctually, unfortunately for us that arrive early we didn't manage to take pictures with those Captain...sigh...

These reminds me that a tall & handsome captain waived & smiled at me on the first day when i was looking outside the windows on my phone from my room. I knew that he was the captain after I read their cruise structure on board.

Below was the pictures of their high class restaurant and those foods ranges from appetizer, soup, main course & dessert. Although it was small, but you will be full by the end of the dinner...Simply delicious.

Superstar Gemini (SSG) Entertainment at Night!!

there's nothing that I can talk about now~~~Going UK next month~~=(

At Star Cruise Trip, on 9.30pm each day there will be entertainment show for tourist like us to enjoy.

Each night, there would be different shows provided, for example dances, singing etc... Hmm...mostly dances would be good to watch..SSG invited dancers from Brazil and dancers who ever won cups before... Although they look nice & friendly when dances,but in reality they are NOT!!!!

The show on the first few days are disallowed to take pictures due to Copyright. So..no pic are taken..

Below pictures are allow to be taken. Most of the Entertainer below are SSG own employees from all over Asia..Indonesia, Phillipnes, Thailand etc~~

Pic: Actually, she/he was a man, fro Philippines~~He's imitating Diana Ross for that day..He's action was sOoOo funny!!

Pic: Saw the guy in blue coloured shirt??He's SHY GUY (we called him that because of the show when the first time we watch). Justin Timberlake's song for their dance. SHY GUY was extraordinary~~

Pic: Above two picture was the same person, the real CRUISE DIRECTOR from Phillipines. Nice person.

Pic: There were show by them which were imitating singers for us to enjoy. Real funny and i can laught my heart out~~~HAHAHHAAH. Three of them are guys, but wear girls outfits.

Pic: Bingo Day. Where mostly ang mo know how's the game work. Guys entertainers dress like girls and few are real girls. They present themself as Miss Malaysia, Thailand, America, India....


Pic: The dancers from Brazil, wearing sexy outfit & doing sexy dances...WOW!!


Pic: Singers which originated from Phillipines. Good voice they have. They are the group singers who always sings at SSG's restaurant and plays the music instrument.


Pic: The "BEATLES"..They are acting like one & singing Beatle's song. I forgot the title of the song already.

I really enjoy for that trip, each day was wonderful..People greet you, people treats you real nice and you felt different. Kind of miss Star Cruise when we saw cruise when we drive through our ports.

Star Cruise Gemini Trip --- Room that we are staying in SSG

Whatever~~

Excited when we first step into the Cruise. We are staying in a room which is more expensive (RM2000++) than the other. The room is expensive accordingly because of its windows for tourist like us to look out the window.

Pic: The bathroom. Frighten us when we flush.

Pic: The bathroom where we took our bath. It's small, but it's pack with everything needed.

The bed are double deckered, but I just sleep with my sister in the same bed.

Star Cruise Gemini Trip --- Langkawi (29-02-2008)

We reach Langkawi Port on 9a.m. The land of free tax. Where all item sold are free taxed. Even STARBUCKS!!!

First place that we visit was the Underwater World Langkawi. Where many kinds of underwater creatures. i.e: fishes, sea horse, turtles etc.. and birds park where you can see different kinds of birs like parrots etc.. Even snake and comodo are in the list. Me and my sister went to watch their 3D...and it was not good, nothing interesting.

But overall, I love to watch animals, birds etc..and I would say it's really GREAT!!!

Secondly, we went to Kota Mahsuri where we see Princess Mahsuri's graveyard, she was innocent and being killed, her blood was white in colour and she cursed Langkawi for over 7 generation. Yes, 7 Generation has passed. Langkawi were improving now.

Thirdly, we visited Black Sand Beach where there sand are black in colour. We still can see some black sand around, those stall heading to the beach sold those sand in a small bottle for tourist like us. According to local, the sand can prevent us from evil or ghost.

After visited some places, we went to do some SHOPPING like usual... Branded stuff are cheap~~ Didn't bought any =(

After shopping, we went back to the ship. Didn't manage to visit more places, actually they have more place to visit because all of us are exhausted. We seems to find place to sit, rather than shop around.

P/S: If you are a chocolate lover, DON'T FORGET TO BUY CHOCOLATE, Langkawi sold many types of chocolate with a CHEAP price.
