Crystal Clear Water at Sapi Island, Sabah! (VLOG)

Some time during middle of June, Beverly proposed to go for a getaway to the Island with a few bloggers/ personal friends. From a group of 6, it ends with a laid back trip of 3. As I never been to Sapi Island before, why don't we go there for a nice visit! :)

The video below is our first official vlog we have made! A video of less than 4 minutes to let us know how is Sapi Island looks like and feels like!

- Youtube : meitzeu's Channel -

Do subscribe my Channel as well! :)

- Beautiful Beach of Sapi Island -

A short description of Sapi Island. It is one of the island at Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and we are lucky that we actually can go for island hoping if we wanted to! The other islands will be Pulau Manukan, Pulau Sulug, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Gaya. Read more about the island at Sabah Tourism website.

The crystal clear water was great for diving and snorkeling at Pulau Sapi and even a friend of Beverly, who is also a diver told us that Pulau Sapi was so much cleaner than the previous island he dived on the same day. I didn't went for snorkeling this time, however I still remember the feelings of being bite by tiny fishes while under the water.

- Marine Life -

Amazing view when I look down from the jetty. I was like surprised with the crystal clear water that I could see such a number of uncountable tiny fishes that Terence said those were Ikan Bilis. (=_="), which... might be true?

- Breathtaking Scene with corals as well -

- The T-Shirt -

The A380 T-shirt as a compensation that I didn't attend the Big Flight Joy Ride as the winner of The Big Flight Bloggers Contest. Read here for more information if you are new reader of meitzeu.com!

- Komodo Dragon aka Komodo Monitor -

There's a number of huge komodo monitors at Sapi Island which they are walking proudly while sight seeing the tourists there. No worry, it won't harm us unless you aware of their existence.

- Frisbee Time -

Beverly taught me how to play frisbee for the first time and it was interesting. And I didn't expect that Terence took a few photos of me! :)

 - White Sandy Beach -

Oh my... I love the sand! And I left my foot print there before I go home. E hemm.... =P

We went back to K.K. at 1.30pm and our face were blushed. Looking forward to our next trip to another island of TAR Marine Park! I want see the marine life under!

BTW, do read Beverly's entry here

Have a great day everyone!

【沙巴游】 亚庇 : 菲律宾市场 Fun in Sabah : Kota Kinabalu - Sunday Walk at Filipino Market

After we had a nice relaxing walk at Gaya Street Sunday Market (click here!), few of us (including our tourists friends) walked together towards the direction of our next destination -

The Filipino Market of K.K.

Which located opposite of Le Meridien Hotel.

- Dried seafood products -

Walked from Gaya Street back to their hotel for a short rest and continued our walk towards the City Market (Dry and Wet) and Filipino Market.

- Dried Seafood Products -

Varieties of Dried Seafood Products for sell at the Filipino Market.

- Dried Seaweed -

The seaweeds in purple are the unprocessed while the yellowish in colour are not. The benefits of having seaweed is for beautifying our skin and its full of collagen!! Its great for girls! :)

FYI, they sell in pack too!! And its cheap though.

- Pasar Kraftangan Kota Kinabalu / Crafts Market of Kota Kinabalu -

- Pasar Kraftangan Kota Kinabalu / Craft Market of Kota Kinabalu -

Tourists often treat here as one of the must visit place in town, most of them will buy goodies such as pearls, local crafts products and keep them as remembrances of this beautiful K.K. City.

- Filipino Market -

- Local Snacks/ Delicacies -

Varieties of crunchy snacks that we could have! And did you noticed the Snacks with holes? That's

Kuih Cincin!

A very crunchy and I love to eat that compared with other snacks. Nyum!

- The Coconut Stall -

After a long walk, few of us went to the Coconuts Stall nearby for refreshment while other ladies still doing their shopping at the market. :)

- Coconut Stall -

Chopping the Coconut by the seller.

- The young Coconut -

Young Coconut taste really good with tender Coconut Meat. Oh my~ It was so soft!

- Satisfying Coconut Refreshment -

Refreshing trip around K.K. area with tourists on that Sunday morning and btw, one more thing -

It was actually MY FIRST WALK to visit further to the Filipino Dried Seafood Market (Once in a while, I only visited the Craft Market of K.K.) and having Coconut Drink at the Coconut Stall of Filipino Market after so many years of living in K.K. -__-"

KK : The Local Sunday Market, Gaya Street 【沙巴游】 亚庇 - 周末市场/步行街, 加雅街

If you are a local here, definitely you will know when and where is our Sunday Market will operates. Gaya Street Sunday Market, the famous spot where tourists all over the world will be visiting when they are in town on Sunday!

Gaya Street - It is formerly known as Bond Street and Dunlop Street (click) once, before the independence of Sabah. In addition to the history of Gaya Street, on every Sunday, Gaya Street will turn into a crowded Street Fair whereby tourists and locals will be visiting it while enjoying their walk with their love ones and friends. :)

Even my dad would love to bring his family to visit there once in a while, especially when he wanted to buy some goods from there. :)

- Gaya Street Sunday Market -

The usual path from the beginning that we will be walking through until the end and return to the starting point by using the next street between that two rows of shops. (FYI, Gaya Street Sunday Market is combined with two streets back and forth).

Cut the craps and let the photographs speaks. :)  Do enjoy!

- Although they are handicap, they still find another way to earn for a living -

After all these years, they are still there entertaining visitors with their music instruments and the songs they are performing.

- Batiks -

Similar patterned scarfs, clothes and etc can be seen there. Price are both reasonable and expensive at Gaya Street, any pieces that we found interested, just bargain with them for a worthy price.

- I heart KK -

Raise your hand if you love KK!! LOLz! Even KK is selling the famous "I love" sign like we could see in other places. It reminds me of "I love Liverpool", "I love Paris" and more.

- Fridge Magnets -

Reasonable pricing with various beautiful pattern fridge magnets that can be selected from stalls over there.

- Antiques and local music instruments -

I'm not sure where were those antiques found each time I saw those. During my last visit, I managed to listen a short music instruments performance by the seller and his/ her friends. A thought came in to my mind - They are old and it is such a waste that most of the younger generation now a days doesn't really appreciate the tradition/ culture of ours here. WHY?? Too much influence by other culture through out the world. :(

- Portraits -

Lively portraits can be found at Gaya Street and since years ago they were there already.

- Plants -

Flora, fruits and other plants can be found there too. And that's our Sunday Market here, all kinds of goods can be found.

My dad bought the Orchid in addition to his garden. :)

- Towards the end of Gaya Street -

Normally, we will see more local snacks selling at the end of Gaya Street (towards DBKK building).

As a reminder! Don't forget to try our famous "Kuih Paip", the one with holes and when we eat it, it is crunchy! And addictive after we have the first piece.

- Fresh Coffee Powder -

Sabah Coffee Bean!!

- Happening Show at Gaya Street -

- Part of Promosi Kraf Malaysia -

Unbelievable show performed by using few kinds of traditional music instruments. Wait till you see the guitar they've made!

- Lintasan Deasoka -

Once in a while, especially during festive season, Lintasan Deasoka will be decorated and crowded with people for the on going show/ performance.

- Unique Items that we might see in town -

I do appreciate all the historical and meaningful figures that left behind you know. :)

The sewing machine is located up high on the roof to let passengers know that the owner is running his business related to sewing machine. What an antique figure that we might not found in other places. :)

So yea~ Appreciate the history left behind I may say. :)

BTW, KK people, when is your last time visiting Gaya Street Sunday Market? ;)

【沙巴游】 亚庇 Fun in Sabah : Kota Kinabalu - The Green Connection, where I meet GANGSTER!

Once again I went to The Green Connection for the visiting together with a group of local students and not forgotten - THP (Don't forget to click "like" on their page, so that you could be one of the lucky to receive surprise and worthwhile giveaway when it reaches 333 likes!!) too!

Anyway, I still love to visit Green Connection Aquarium, whereby we could see and gained a lot of information about the eco-treasures of Sabah. Click here to view my first exciting visit of mine at Green Connection, by comparing with my previous visit, they have added more creatures now.

- The Green Connection and Science Discovery Lab -

Saw the Sharks, the Leopard Ray, the Turtle and other creatures? All of them are waiting for us to visit!

I have seen them personally and the Green Connection certainly a place for young and old and of course to all nature lovers too!

- Environmental Message Tree -

Over time, with the overwhelming introducing to all, the place has gained its popularity and visitors from all over the world visited there and leaving messages day by day! Even the locals love the place too. ;)

Remember I told you about the Huge Tank/ Aquarium which they were going to start with later on and having Sharks in it on my first Green Connection's entry?

FINALLY! Everything were settled and IT WAS AWESOME!!

- The Fish Feeding Aquarium Show! -

The Fish Feeding Show was AWESOME!! And it was great meeting GANGSTER, the green turtle in the Aquarium! So, now you know "who" is GANGSTER! LOLz.

It was named Gangster, simple because of its nervous attitude towards FOODS!! Gangster always be the one nearest to and chasing the diver and keep his mouth to those food! You might be laughing if you saw it personally. Diver was playing with Gangster, the Sting Ray and all those fishes in there. How I wish I'm in there too! It surely FUN! Unfortunately, I forgotten to take the video of the Fish Feeding Show. My bad. :(

- Fish Feeding Aquarium Show -

Fun and informative explanation by the representative of Green Connection and students were having fun snapping photographs! FYI, those were some of the students who THP were handling while others sitting and standing behind.

The Aquarium is like a super huge television for us to sit back and enjoy the show!

FYI, the Diver and Gangster even showing us that they were "hugging"! So cute! :)

- Meet the Snakes! -

Say Hi to the Borneo Long-Tail Python and Borneo Short-tail Python!

Borneo Short-tail Python was cute! I took photograph with it at both of my visiting, but not with "T" (which I found it was quite interesting on my first visit) on my second visit. I just wondered, why there were not many students who were willing to take photographs with it. :/

- Meet the Snakes -

Watch that video to see the students who took photographs with the Snake!

- Sea Turtle! -

- Corals -

Colourful and beautiful corals that we could see there! Even though some of it looks like dead but actually it is not!

- Explanation by Representative regarding the Corals -

- Stone Fish -

It really looks like Stone! Imagine if it was under the sea with all the corals with different colours.

- Baby Sharks -

They are beautiful! And I could see them in very close distance!

- Interesting -

I managed to take a few snaps of it before the students scares them away!

- Feel it -

Oh man~ Everything we saw and touch were real at Green Connection!

- World Map -

Saw that coloured little stickers? Those were the visitors all over the world who stuck on the map as an evidence that they came to visit Green Connection.

- Sea world -

I walked out earlier before the students do and I requested Meatball to help me took this!

The Sting Ray is smiling at you! :)

- Notes on Environmental Message Tree -

Satisfying with the educational tour and one of the leader took the effort to write down few words before she leave the place.

- GANGSTER, the Green Turtle -

The Green Connection is a wonderful and educational based center to create awareness and educate people with the eco-treasure of ours.

Okay~ I'm going to stop here. Gangster waving to all of you readers! Bye!

Check out their facebook for more updates! - The Green Connection.
