Hong Kong Porridge at Pak Ka Lok Food Park 百家乐 (香港粥), K. K., Sabah

Personally, I love porridge very much.

I can have porridge for few days straight even though I might get hungry after one or two hours.

Were writing all sorts of high cholesterol and high carbohydrates food within Malaysia and every destinations I went before. Finally, writing a post that is "healthier" and lighter. haha :D

- Pak Ka Lok (Hong Kong Porridge) 百家乐 (香港粥) -

Located at 1st Floor of Wisma Merdeka, a shopping mall at down town Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. A well known restaurant that operating their business since my primary school time (as what I can remember) and it will be crowded most of the time, serving all kinds of foods from French toasts, Chinese Kuih and Hong Kong Porridge.

In my latest attempt to the restaurant for breakfast on Sunday at 9.00am, (before the shopping mall officially start their business at 10.00am) the restaurant was crowded already!

Been there for the third time (not frequently went there for meals because it's too crowded) and we always forgot about the shop! We only remember the word "Food Court" which located at the other phase of the building!

Was trying out my G12 after I bought it for the first time on January and it brings me to took photographs of porridge!

Here comes my Pork Liver and Kidney Porridge! It cost RM5.00 which is reasonable!

The texture was smooth~ Yummy! And the Yau Char Kway was crunchy and I can finish my bowl of hot porridge quite fast! *Slurpp**

Their Beef Porridge and Mix Pork also good!

Location:
1st Floor, Wisma Merdeka,
Same phase with Tong's departmental store,
walk further behind to the washroom entrance and you can see the restaurant!

It's Super Moon in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah!

Been informed that 19th March 2011, we will be having Super moon here.

Super moon will only happened once in many years when the distance of the Moon is the most nearest with the Earth.

Not only the Moon will look larger than the usual, there will be sign of natural disasters might happen because of these kind of nature 'thingy'.

Caught some photographs using my BB phone, without zooming further.

Quite clear though.

The view from Damai area, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It was not raining here, just drizzling rain during 9.00pm.

Furthermore, I saw families standing outside their house to see the Moon!

Hmm... From what I saw, it's a bit larger than the usual (It was full moon tonight and it's look like white and round Tang Yuan or a 20 cents compared with 10 cents), but not as large as the Moon which  T's saw during midnight, 3.00am to 4.00am in the morning (30 to 50 % larger or 50 cents I suppose) when he went out for a cigarette during midnight!

Hope I can see the largest Moon later!
(Updates on 10.00 pm - I saw the moon become blurred compared with the earlier one and this one got CIRCLED RING surrounding it!)

p/s: Stay away from the sea shore, the sea water might make your vehicles become rusty! It will be high tide!

Breakfast at The Loaf (Bakery & Bistro), Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is Love.

Been to Pavilion K. L. for many times and act as a passerby of The Loaf when I entering the shopping mall.

For the first time I had my breakfast at The Loaf on the same morning when I'm leaving back to K. K.in the afternoon.

Breakfast was cozy, delicious and the pastries and breads have a reasonable price too!

Thought that the pastry they were selling was expensive since it was located at Pavilion K. L., the high class shopping heaven! And actually it was NOT!!!

Told myself that I must try all kind of foods even it cost expensive for once and of course all those food which can be acceptable and at last I got a bite of pastry from The Loaf.

The Loaf was located at the right side of the main entrance of Pavilion K. L. with a nice scenery of Bukit Bintang area and a nice environment for guests like us sitting outside the bakery.

For your information, The Loaf was owned by our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, a prime minister who I salut the most! If I'm not mistaken, he told us that he would like all of us to have a nice place for a cup tea and pastries made with Japanese methodology for us to enjoy. What a nice person that thinks for others.

And if you are lucky enough, you can meet him personally at his outlet while he is having his tea session!

Everyone deserve the best right???

- Loaf of Breads -

- Smiley U -

- The Pastries -

Their breads and pastries smells great and made my saliva drooled! Too many choices for me to select, does not know which one to choose. lol :D

- The gifts -

Jams, biscuits and others. My elder sister bought a jar or two as for the jams.

Three of us - Meatball (me elder sister), Jenette (my cousin) and me!

I had White Coffee which cost RM5.80 only!! For me, the price is okay with flavour that were bitter and smells great (gau gau), not like some others which contained too much milk which become worst than latte.

- Square California Raisin RM3.80 -

The price is reasonable for such a bakery and bistro! The breads and pastries that bite us! It's delicious and it's a must try!!!

Facial expression talks. :) Mmmmm~~~ So nice!!

And Jenette's eye blinked at her first bite!

Recyclable plate for our breakfast.

It's still early while waiting for the shopping mall to open. We saw the security were doing their daily routine in the morning.

The Loaf. What a nice bakery & bistro to be. :) I love!

Road Trip to Million Years History of Malaysia - Taman Negara, Pahang

Wake up early in the morning and well prepared for our road trip to

JERANTUT AND TAMAN NEGARA NATIONAL PARK which located at PAHANG!

Behold below with so much photographs to share!

The place, the food, the people and million years rainforest.

Passes by Batu Caves and other places which I don't know what they called and we headed to one of the resting station for washroom and bought some snacks.

Rested for a while and took pictures of me, my younger sister and cousin and off we go again.

Snap snap snap, eat eat eat and sleep sleep sleep.

It took us 2 and a half hour till 3 hours to reach Jerantut, Pahang.

Great hospitality by friends and having the nicest lunch there. The restaurant we went served quite different taste of food compared to other towns and even K. K..

- Squeezed Orange Juice -

So refreshing and cooling.

Bought a special stone from Jerantut - Labodoride. I love it so much and it's really bring some luck to me!

Lunch and rest done!

And we continued with another 1 hour to 1 and a half hour (depends on driving speed) to reach our destination.

Taman Negara Pahang covers 2,477 km square and I think it includes the area which we could see along the journey.

While we were on our way, we saw tall red men made stones or boards that have figures on it.

Do you know what was it?

Those figures represent the water level that may drown the area. So, imagine it could cover all of us here!!

It's real and no false statement, you will know how high did the whole area been drowned before when you read further!

Dropped by Rainforest Resort for a short survey while heading to our main destination of the trip.

And FINALLY,

we reached the village opposite Mutiara Taman Negara, National Park Resort and we were prepared to go for river cruise around there before we had our drink and surveying the resort.

The preserved area to protect all the creatures, the flora and fauna!

It's amazing and I'm felt grateful that I'm experiencing the environment of the oldest rainforest, which older than the well known Amazon!

- Hanging Bridge -
(By looking at the middle of the photograph above, the hanging bridge is tied among the trees.)

Enjoying the marvelous scenery of Taman Negara while sitting in a boat and friends to entertain us with laughter.

I have been understood that there are 4 villages of Orang Asli people in Taman Negara and one of it is Batek Tribe (the only tribe that I could find through internet), Orang Asli community who still living in Taman Negara with semi-traditional lifestyle.

We only saw one of the village along the river.

I heard our guide told me that the tribe was pronounced with a word started with the letter "N", but I only found Batek Tribe (correct me if I'm wrong).

As told, the Orang Asli that we saw were similar to African with curly hair and smaller in size. The village we seen were twenty (20) plus or minus in person.

- River Cruise -

River cruising along Tembeling River of Kuala Tahan with rough water at some part of the river.

And I don't know whether our guide (our friend) told us the truth or not that we can either choose to get wet or not to get wet.

- Jetty to the Resort -

Brief introduction about the river cruise and it's kind of rush that we needed to visit in details about Mutiara Taman Negara later.

- Water Level of 74 meters marked on 4th January, 1971 -

74 meters above the water level and jetty.

Oh my~ When I look down and look forward to the opposite Jetty, 74 meters covered the whole area of the river and jetty.

I reached Mutiara Taman Negara, National Park Resort of Pahang.

A cup of tea with parents, sisters and friends before continuing our further purposes.

Introducing Pahang and Taman Negara on the laminated cardboard at the cafe.

The resort offers various guestrooms to suit guests needs - Standard guesthouses, few types of chalet for family, couples and even guests who travel alone, Bungalow, Dormitory and even camping for guests in group.

Felt curious about the uneven field and garden?

It was "beautified" by the wild boars! Animals such as deers, monkeys, squirrels (I saw five of it grouped together at the field) and more can be seen walking freely at the resort, especially at night while guests are sitting at the balcony.

Few of us walked further through a gate and feeling the nature of National Park. Stopped by a hut with staircases to see the animals in action, we need to be patient for that.

- Ghost Palm Leaf -

It look similar like our hand, but the leaf is larger.

Saw plants and insects while walking. I even played with Stick Insect (Leave eater insect which looks like a thin stick)! And I heard my friend says that he been bitten by small LEECH!!!!! (Ewww~~ I dislike leech even it will only suck human with higher body heat like him.)

What they breath out, we breath in. Conserve it.

Hembusan Nafas Mereka adalah respirasi kita. Harulah kita memperkekalkan.

Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footsteps.

It refers to the nature that need to be conserved. Not only in Taman Negara, but also everywhere we are.

I love to protect the nature. However, without the support from majority of people, the aim can't be reach and the earth will be destroyed slowly. So, protect the earth before it's too late!

More than 10 monkeys, young and old climbing on the roofs and trees. I guess it's time for dinner! Hah!

Visiting to Taman Negara was fun and amazing. We didn't manage to stay overnight and what a waste that we have traveled more than 3 hours to reach Pahang and Taman Negara.

3 days 2 nights will be enough for the activities there - Experiencing the canopy walks, the river, the animals and be apart of the nature.

A short compacted clip mixed of my visiting in to the jungle - Feel free to watch!

A tiring and informative journey and it's time to go back Jerantut for dinner and back to K. L., another few hours we went with high speed driving skills and it's midnight to reach the hotel.

Would it be nice to have a short trip overnights at the million years history of Taman Negara in the future.

Till we meet again.

Tour with Tropical Holidays Paradise for Taman Negara, Pahang.

The Brainless Publication They Did with Ultraman and Tsunami

Such an insulting action they did!!

Local Malaysian newspaper Berita Harian published a caricature in their editor's column today that depicts the popular Japanese cartoon character Ultraman as trying to outrun an incoming tsunami.
The publication has received tremendous criticisms by readers, who accuse the editors as being "inconsiderate and distasteful". Several political leaders have even stepped out and demand a public apology, to which the editors promptly made on their publication's Facebook fan page.
Photograph was posted by Dancingtiger

It's ain't funny at all!

Incident of the Earthquake and Tsunami which striked Japan has been noted as the darkest incident of all time. Yet, they are people who making fun of it. Or did they didn't think twice before their publication on the newspaper?

True that Ultraman can't help when natural disaster come. HOWEVER,

It's really shameful for me as a Malaysian when I saw the word "BERITA HARIAN" and the publication for that photograph was running all over the internet since evening. (it could be seen throughout the world now)

Human are in fear anywhere in the world. Natural disaster is unpredictable and only God knows when. By doing such publication does not help and it's makes most of the readers felt miserable.

SHAME ON YOU!

Please use your logical thinking before you do something that may make the situation worst.

As for those non facts news about Tsunami that will happen anywhere, PLEASE STOP IT!

We need real fact you know or not???

Coffee Friends Cafe, Tanjung Aru Plaza, K. K., Sabah

Was going to meet someone for some meeting at Tanjung Aru Plaza with my family.

It was raining cats and dogs and the wind were strong that could make us flew away. Wanted to go to the cafe nearby for breakfast, but it was too early for them to start their business. How unlucky and I'm hungry!

Heard there was a nice cafe inside the building with good food served. However, we will need to wait until the meeting over then only we can go there for breakfast or brunch??

- Coffee Friends -

Served varieties of delicious foods from Western, Local, Italian cuisine. I like Italian food!!

The environment of the cafe was normal and don't expect they serve affordable foods with high class cafe! (They doesn't really have an attractive presentation for that cafe.)

Which one you normally preferred? The food or the environment?

As for me, I look in to both and food normally won in the end!

Price is affordable and worth for the money we paid anyway.

- Cappuccino and Tea -

- Garlic Bread -

Quite special with cheese and fried garlic on top. The fragrance of the garlic bread was NICE!!

- Mushroom Soup -

I love mushroom soup! Their served with a hint of Malaysian delight.

- Club Sandwich -

One of the recommended one. Breakfast was wonderful with it!

- Either it's Laksa or Tom Yum -

My elder sister had it and she say yumyum!

Everything we had was nice. A recommended place, especially for a cup of drink after flight or before heading to the airport Terminal 2 (LCCT) of Kota Kinabalu. It's just 5 minutes away!
